Some designs have a "My Logo" box for uploading your own logo, and some have a photo box for uploading a photo. Logos appear in various places on each template, and photos are similar to logos except that they may be part of a design that "masks" the uploaded photo in unusual ways. If a photo is part of a design, then you must upload a photo. Logos can be removed from a design by checking the "remove" box and the default "My Logo" (or your uploaded logo) will disappear after you hit the update button. If you want to upload a logo or photo, here are the specs needed: Logo and Photo upload requirements Your logo file must be: A JPEG, GIF or PNG image file. 300 dpi for JPEG and GIF files. 299.999 dpi (OR 118.11 pixels per cm) for PNG files. Your photo file must be: A "300 d.p.i." JPEG image file. Color Modes**: JPEG images can be Grayscale, RGB or CMYK modes. PNG and GIF images can be Grayscale, RGB or Indexed Color modes. - GIF and PNG images can have "transparent" areas. If you save your file with transparencies, then the background of the biz card design will show through the transparent areas of your logo (...you may or may not want this effect). The image dimensions (width and height) must be exactly what is shown on the form (in red). Use the part of the form that says "Upload your logo" or "Upload your photo", and hit the browse button to find your image file on your local computer. Then click the "Update This Design" button. If it passes all requirements, you will see it added to your card design. If any errors, they will be shown in red. (** Full color printing is a four color ink, or CMYK, process - and what you see on the screen is a RGB conversion of your uploaded images. Some colors may change slightly in the conversion to CMYK when printed. One example is Orange, it tends to turn brownish. We reccommend that all uploaded files be CMYK mode to prevent any "color change surprises". If you like the CYMK file that you made - you can ignore any color changes that may be seen on your computer screen, beacuse it will be converted back to CMYK in the end. It will look like what you intended, if you follow this tip. BOTTOM LINE: You should color check your own images in CMYK mode no matter what you upload. ) |
